“Abortion and Women’s Rights 1970” Screening and Meet & Greet hosted by Dakotans for Health
Dakotans For Health: In South Dakota, we’ve witnessed firsthand the consequences of the most extreme abortion ban in the nation—one that offers no exceptions for rape, incest, or non-viable pregnancies. Last November, despite our best efforts to restore reproductive rights, our voices were drowned out by a tidal wave of money and misinformation.
join us for an extraordinary evening of reflection, resilience, and renewed commitment to this cause.

We’ll start with a social hour, complete with complimentary wine and charcuterie. Then, we’ll gather for a screening of the groundbreaking documentary “Abortion and Women’s Rights 1970”—a powerful, 28-minute film that takes us back to a pre-Roe era, reminding us of the dangers women faced and the incredible resilience of those who fought for change.
And here’s the best part: after the film, we’ll be joined live via virtual Q&A by three of the inspiring women behind it—Jane Pincus, Mary Summers, and Karen Weinstein. They’ll share their stories, their insights, and their hopes for the future of reproductive justice.
This event isn’t just about looking back—it’s about fueling our fight forward. It’s about honoring the past while working to build a future where every woman has access to safe, equitable reproductive healthcare

The TPAN's 3rd Annual Gala will celebrate all of the critical, life-saving work of TPAN advocating for the transgender community in South Dakota, as well as raise funds and awareness for our policy related work in 2025.
