HB1080, a law that prohibits access to medically necessary healthcare for transgender youth in South Dakota, passed into law last year. Now, community advocates are coming together for a virtual event focused on helping families in South Dakota access gender-affirming and find other resources in their local communities.
At the event, we will be discussing resources available, including patient navigation support, referrals to out-of-state gender-affirming care, and $500 emergency grants for families of transgender youth. Additionally, community partners will share about the resources available through their organizations. And there will be plenty of time for questions.

In memory of all transgender, gender-nonconforming, and two-spirit people lost to violence in 2024.
Every year on November 20th, we honor and remember the transgender, gender-nonconforming, and two-spirit individuals whose lives were taken due to anti-trans violence with Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR). This day is a solemn reminder of the ongoing struggles our community faces and the urgent need for change.
Let’s come together in solidarity, paying tribute to those we've lost and reaffirming our commitment to fight for a world where everyone can live their truth without fear. We remember, we mourn, and we vow to continue our advocacy for justice, equality, and safety for all transgender people.
